New Year New MOOC!

We’re excited to announce big news! We’re collaborating with Heatspring to create our first MOOC (Massive Online-Only Course). The course is titled “The Psychology of Solar Sales: How to Win Deals and Influence the Future” and teaches residential solar sales with an emphasis on using the principles of psychological science to drive more sales and have better interactions with clients. Many of you know that I (Taylor) started out in residential and commercial sales before I began to work primarily in solar operations (aka the "dark side ;)), and I’m excited to share what I learned. For the average homeowner, interactions with residential sales consultants make a huge impression that colors their perception of the whole industry. For better or worse, people that have great and awful experiences with solar salespeople show up at planning and zoning board meetings, city council meetings, and sometimes even at public utilities meetings to share their thoughts on solar. As an industry, it’s critical that we get the residential consumer experience right. My experience is that you can sell more solar by acting with integrity and learning to be a better listener and communicator than you can by pressuring or manipulating your clients. My goal with the course is to support a squadron of solar sales do-gooders who are outselling all of the bad actors in the space.
